Yes, the Honoka’a Business Association Website is online. This is the 1st draft version, the home page is up and we have made efforts to represent as many as possible of the various activities, business, associations, services, and organizations. Many have contributed to getting the site this far and it is still subject to change, correction, and revisions. We are excited about what this site can do for our community and we look forward to incorporating improvements and additions.
Honokaa.org is intended to be an inclusive site, and to achieve this we have entered in the directory listings for businesses, services, organizations, etc. – those who have contacted us, and many who we have heard about or we found in the Yellow Pages. Our community is large and diverse! Please check the site and let us know if your business, organization, or service, is listed correctly. If we missed a business or organization – yours or someone else’s, please let us know and we’ll make the addition. We want to include all local businesses, organizations, etc in the directory – members and non-members. In addition to the directory, HBA members have a Profile Page that includes photos and text which provides a greater promotion than just listing in the directory.
Profile Page: Honoka’a Business Association members can now submit up to 4 photos and 300 words about their business, organization, or service on a HBA website Profile Page. Your Profile Page will also include a Google map (for street addresses), contact information and a link to your existing website (if you do not have a website and want one, we are compiling a list of names of folks who can assist you in making one). As you may know, having links to your website helps your search engine rankings, and even if you don’t have a website, your information will still go into the search engines!
Content Contest – WIN – $25, $50, or $100: If you write an article or submit a video about Honokaa or Hamakua and it is selected to be part of the site – you could win!! Not only will you become eligible to win some cash (which we could all use!), but you will be doing a service; assisting in the content and development of a website that represents – the people and businesses; groups and organizations, parades, fairs, rodeos, and celebrations that make up this community. Articles can be; personal experience; something about the history of the area; or about a person, place, or event that helped shaped (or is currently shaping) Honoka’a and the Hamakua Coast.
Three cash prizes will be issued by the Honokaa Business Association – $100, $50, and $25. To be eligible to win submissions must be received by midnight, June 30, 2010. Any article or video submitted may be used on the Honokaa.org site. You do not have to be a member to enter.
