Entering CC Jon’s Snack in Shop it feels like you have gone back in time; a simple, 9 stool “L” shaped counter with an additional stool composed of a large, old, cylindrical milk container; grill in the back; some old posters and the menu on the Kelly green walls.
Prices are very affordable – Hamburger $2.75, fries $2, Saimin $3.25 small or $6.50 large. Korean Chicken is their claim to fame. It is the School kids favorite hang-out, early and late. The place is friendly and smells great.
CC John’s was established in September of 1973 by Marian Rapozo. Her mother, Thelma Kodani worked as a waitress and through the years several of Marian’s daughters helped out. There is no one named “Jon” or any “CC”. The place was named by Marian’s husband, Alfred, using the initials of their 5 daughters – C–Carol, C–Collette, J–Joni, O- Odetta, and N-Noella. The “S” stands for both Sons – Gary and Kirk.
In 1994 Daughter Joni took over the business while Marian continued as cook and manager. Brocky,
Joni’s son started working at CC Jon’s in 2003 alongside “Gramma Marian” and has since taken over as cook/manager. Laid back, friendly and hardworking Brocky is assisted by his life partner Tiare.
